My son was diagnosed with cyclic neutropenia in December of 1997 2 months before his 2nd birthday, he statred GCFS injections in January. As of May 2000 we took him off the medication to see how he would do and to date he has done great. The docter believes he has an idiopathic form of neutorpenia. There is a blood test now avaliable that diagnosis congential and cyclic neutropenia he will have that done in November. My son experienced poor rate of growth and weight gain as well as some motor delays because of how ill he was from about 3 months to 3 years old. We saw dramatic improvements in his health after he started the GCFS. You should contact the Severe Neutropenia Registry for more information.
