Verbal Dyspraxia

May

Message 3 of 5 Previous Next

My younger brother was also diagnosed around the same age as your son with developmental verbal dyspraxia. he is now almost five and though he still has a little trouble, through intensive one-on-one speech therapy, much work from my mother and lots of practise, he is now being understood by other people not within my family. Don't lose hope. It can be treated and prevented from progressing through speech therapy if detected early (which you have cleverly done. Even though there is a lot of hard work involved, all of it eventually pays off, with gradually progressing new speech and sounds and hopefully, in the end, one who is able to be understood by others. Remeber, practice is the key to success, and must be done! Don't hesitate to contact me for more information.
