I have a 16 year old daughter who has recently been diagnosed with Asperger. She was born with Micropthalmia and coloboma, which means that she is blind in one eye and that eye is very small (both the eyeball and the iris are half the size of a normal eye. As a baby she had metatharsus ( her feet had to be put in cast for months to straighten them, and she had repeated ear infections. She is very bright but strange. She attends a regular highschool and she knows a lot. Her main porblem is that she does not have any friends. I have no idea wheter her other problems are related to Asperger, and I would like to hear from other parents or professionals with regards to relationship between Asperger and other birth defects. I would gladly provide any other information. Hang in there. Mical
