Dear Insomnia, I too suffer from insomnia, I lost my son July 26th, and have suffered since then. Never had a problem before that. The doctor has me on mild non-addicting sleeping pills called serequil. I don't always take them and I do make the mistake of drinking lots of coffee, which does not help. I have been told by a lot of people to try to sleep in another room which I have done and i did sleep well, also I have been told to get up and take your pillow and turn on a tv which sometimes helps bbut truely the serequil is the best and it is non-addicting...so you may want to consult your your doctor about that...believe me they are mild and not fun at all, nothing to worry about! you can even take 2-3 and it won't hurt. I don't wake up groggy, however I have to take them early in the eve, so they won't still be in my system the next morn.So if reading a good book or changing rooms or watching tv does not help you may want to resort to that. I was so bad that often times through lack of sleep, I would even get scared in the mall all of a sudden cuz mylack of sleep was severely affecting my brain in a very bad way, I could not eat, and was in mental distress, sleeping all day trying to make up for my lost sleep, but that doesn't seem to help, it just added to my insomnia cuz I had slept that day there for I was even less tired at nite. I don't know about you but i get to sleep fine it is just staying asleep that is the problem, I even know exactly what time it is when i wake up..2:30 am. So I strongly suggest consulting you doc about serequil and it's mild affects and the fact that it IS non-addicting! please e-mail me and let me know how you are because I want to help, I know how it affects your brain and the rest of your life...family, job etc... Sincerely, Jane
