My son (4) is being tested for Fragile X: we are waiting for the results. He fits the description very well. He is autistic... Would someone tell me..if he tests positive for Fragile X, do we still call him autistic or do we say he has Fragile X, and is there a difference for sure anyway? Our son also has hypotonia and the physical characteristics of Fragile X and they were previously diagnosed as mild CP or "PDD" or whatever..depending on the dr. What do you all do? Do you tell people they have Fragile X or do you say mentally retarded or autistic (depending upon what you have there). We also have this boy's twin sister (they are adopted). If he tests positive, should we have her tested for being a carrier? If so, then what? Help. Sorry for the elementary questions, but we are just learning here. Need someone who has a clue to answer. Thanks alot! How long did it take for your tests to come back? They told me 3-4 weeks!!! YIKES. ~~Anna
