My daughter just had her 2nd febrile seizure this weekend--it was the most dreadful experience of my life. The culprit was a stomach virus, and before I could give her Motrin for a 99 degree fever, she had the seizure. She's 22 months old and had her first one 6 months ago. I know how you feel - it's terrifying. We have no idea what to expect for the future--the doctor says she could have more. My husband had them, but eventually outgrew them. All we can do is hope she does too. I have noticed the last few days that she is twitching slightly in her sleep. My husband thinks this is normal REM sleep, but I'm not so sure. I, too, am looking for feedback from anyone who is experiencing these seizures with their child -- I'm terribly frightened. Our doc said she does not need to see a neurologist just yet, but I'm thinking Imight take her anyway. Any thoughts? I appreciate just talking with other parents who have been through this.
