I have a son age 54, who has a PSA of 3.8 (was 4.l at one time),w/mild frequency problem, particularly at night. Normal PSA for his age is 3.5. A digital exam is negative. I have read of many things which can cause this, other than cancer, but can't find where I read it. Does anybody know? Is a biopsy necessary for this slight above norm reading?
