Is his memory worse on the day before dialysis or the day after? Usually on the day before dialysis memory can be imparied due to the toxins. Usually after treatment it should improve. Long-term memory is always the long lasting one. Short-term memory loss will pass. Has he be checked for other recent problems. Is he on dialysis for high-blood pressure, diabates? These conditions will affect the short-term memory. Talk to the MD about your concerns and see if this will help with your understanding of his treatment.
