I am a Hemodialysis RN. We have seen patients have what is called Dialysis Dementia. These patients seem to become confused mainly. You did not mention the age of your dad. So many things can be causing the memory loss. I for one am not a dialysis patient, but have trouble remembering things more and more lately. Sometimes it just becomes a part of life. Have you discussed this with your dad's Nephrologist? The doctor should be able to help determine the recent memory loss. It can be due to many things as I said before. They may need to do some tests to determine if he is getting adequate dialysis. That can be a factor.
