I had a sever pain and swelling in my right leg. I went into the ER and the docts told me that it was cellulitis. I had never heard of this before. I've heard of cellulite, but not this. I was so bad that it was very very painful for me to walk or move my leg. I stayed in the ER for 6 to 7 hours and they gave me an I.V. shot or oxiliccin, it was a 2 gram dose. Then they drew a line around the redness and gave me some oral Kelfex(500 mg) and some medicine for vomiting. They said if it was to spread beyond the bounderies to go to your primary doc. Needless to say it did and I was put in the hospital overnight and on the same meds. I received 4 doses and I went home with this medicine called DICLOXACILLIN (500 MG). I need to take it every 6 hours. It seems like it has helped somewhat. I have to go back to the doct on Monday May 7th. I was expermenting around today with my leg it seems like if you put a cool compress on it seems to help quite a bit. I also tried to put some ice on it that helped some to. I wonder why the docs have not tried to do this in the pasted. Right now I sitting at the compter with a cool towel on it. It's hurting like hell!!!!but I just wanted to look on the internet and see what I could find. The other thing that the docs told me to do was to keep it elvated up on something. That seems like it take the pressure off. But when you take it down it hurts again. I have to sleep with a blanket and a pillow under it before it starts feeling better. Tonight I might try to keep a cool compress on it. I hope that this will help some of you out there. Take care a I hope everybody is feeling better when I check back in again.
