My mom had to convince my doctor that I needed treatment when my first shunt malfunctioned. I had my first shunt at 6 months, and I,m 42 yrs. now. I've had headaches constantly since my shunt was changed at 22yrs. I've had several revisions sinc then and I can't think of a time that a doctor has seen a test result that showed him I had a headache, or evidence of a malfunction. I'm the happiest guy I know so smile and be an advocate.
