Dear Christ, I am so sorry about your daughter. I lost my nine month old godson DJ to pnemoccocal meningitis on July 23rd 2000. His infection also we believe stemmed from an untreated ear infection. He began having ear infections when he was 6 1/2 months old, and later began to develop fevers and stiffness of his limbs occasionally. His doctor's never once tested him for meningitis, and continued to write it off as a common ear infection. Even when he was taken to the ER and his white blood cell count was shown to be low, he was not tested. Unbeknownst to us, the infection was continuing to spread through his body. He died suddenly on July 23rd in the hospital after his mother had once again taken him to his doctor because of the earaches and fever and vomiting. She is in the process right now of sueing his doctor for negligence. No one can even begin to explain the pain of losing someone you love. Especially an infant. Especially when it could have been prevented. I feel your pain and I just wanted to send my sympathy. You may reply if you choose.
