Hi everyone! Well, Im due for surgery next Fri (25th Feb 2005) Unfortunately I have stumbled across this site and have read about all your different experiences! ;o( Im so scared. Im scared of the pain, the whole fur ball thing? eeewww!!! The scabbing, the throwing of blood as someone mentioned, and weirdly, Im scared that I will waste away to nothing as I am of quite a slim build. Over the next week I will be sure to stock up my fat cells ;o) (an excellent excuse to eat those tasty moist white chocolate cookies) To be honest, I have found your comments extremely scary, but very useful. Sometimes the fear of the unknown can be worse than knowing exactly whats coming! It certainly does seem that the older you get, the worse experience it is. Im 24, and am expecting it to be worse than that of a 17 year old but not as bad as someone in their 30's. The great thing about this thread is that all of you were still able to go onto the internet and talk about your experiences as they were happening whether you were on day 1,2 or 5. This shows that it is something that can be beaten and will be worth while in the end I hope. And whoever mentioned those in Iraq, I completely agree. I am looking forward to not having the evil dreaded TONSILITIS again. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks to you all, and good luck to those who have made the decision to go through with this, for a better quality of life ;o) Lets face it, thats what its all about ;o)
