Ive had a several minor cases of a pnuemo thorax...i am a soccer referee and and i believe it was caused from running extensively (on days of 5 games in a row) and the impact of a broken collar bone during wrestling practice..i have linked it to impact and heavy breathing and mine will go away and then return a week to 2 weeks later. i was hospitalized overnight for observation on a 8% collapse and ive had other cases of 15-20% that the doctors decided to do nothing about. It comes and goes but i think a pnuemothorax is directly related to the amount of breathing or impact. they've always seemed to heal completely unitl the next occurance. and each occurance doesn't get worse. i wouldnt be too concerned unless your son is. from what we were told, the worst possible thing would be that his whole lung would collapse but it wouldnt be life-threatening, just very painful. let him limit himself, i guess. but if you or your son have linked it to anything else, id greatly appreciate feedback. thnx -daniel
