My Wife has PCOS... it's a very VERY frustrating disease/disorder to have. The only way we have found to controll it and to keep it in check is with the use of Glucaphage and diet. Glucaphage is a drug used to treat diabetes. Somehow it keeps your insulin levesl in check which in turn keeps your testerone levels in check. One of the best diets for women with PCOS that we have found is The Zone Diet. It's a low carb diet, but you still get carbs unlike the Adkins diet which keeps you from having carbs which you still need. Anyway.... When you go to your doctor, make sure that when they do any blood work to check your hormone levels that they check the free flowing levels and not just the normal levels. It makes a HUGE difference. Good luck to you and please feel free to email me off line if you wish. I know it's really hard to communicate through these lists.
