Yes, my daughter has been ill off & on for the last three years. Infact ever sice she had mono at 15. She is now 18. She is now just over 18.In & out of DR. offices & hospitals with cronic ear pain difficullt swallowing as well as fevers as well as the worst throat pain ever. Treated with antibotics as a quick fix or told it's just a virus. Six weeks ago she was so ill she could not swallow she had trouble breathing, fever, severe ear pain. To the ER we went. Pain so extreem Morphine could not touch it. The ER DR had something kind of the same him self around her age. Ordered a CT. Abcess in her tonsills is what they found about the size of a walnut. She also has a bleeding disorder, so they chose not to drain at the time. Five days in the hospital, antibotics, morphine, demoral, the list goes on and on. We had to wait five weeks to see the specialist. By the time her apointment date...well, she was back to the same state she was in at the ER. She was put right into the hospital & the tonsillectomy was the next day. She has had this for 3 years! We were in the hospital for 4 days. mostly for pain. She is on a TON of pain meds & still in a huge amount of pain (morphine, oxycodone, tylenol every 4 hrs, antibotic). Good part? Pain to recovery and no more illness. She will be in pain for about 4 weeks (severe two at least) is what we have been told. Thank God for that ER DR and this is on its way to being over!
