I've had three on the left leg, all within a period of five months in the early '90's when I was early fifties. All failed. One doctor did two of them, another did the last, sacrificing my saphenous vein in the same leg during the procedure. Had I met my current vascular physician then I don't know that I would have had any surgeries. Knowing nothing then, I went for it. Never again. I do Have PVD, peripheral vascular disease, have had stents in both Iliac arteries and just last month a stent in a renal artery and my BP dropped 46 points while I was on the table, under anesthesia. This was a desired effect since I have hypertension which has become uncontrolled once again. An MRI showed the renal artery to have 60%+ stenosis, narrowing, that's why I had the procedure.I would strongly urge you to seek a qualified and recommended vascular person whose first bent is not the OR without first exhausting all other avenues. Good luck, and contact me if you would like any additional info I can provide. Eileen
