Jackie, I have lots of advice, since I had spinal fusions times 3. And one revision surgery which also failed. I am ok now. Please do what the dr. says. It takes months to heal. Don't overdo. And whatever you do, don't sit up for more than a couple mins! I can't stress this enough to you. My first fusion failed within two weeks! I have had a total of 4 surgeries. I know people who have developed arachnoiditis from spinal surgery. Thank goodness I don't have it, but do have the arachnoiditis on film, but am luckily asymptomatic! I hope you don't get it. It's a fate worse than death! If you get a "burning" feeling down your leg, and spasms, then you got it. I am not trying to scare you, but spinal fusion does make scar tissue. Look up this condition and educate yourself. Best of luck!
