I have been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, and the diets can be similar. Definitely stay away from foods that have shells on them (nuts, peas, corn, lima beans, and such). Watch out for tomato seeds, and things like strawberries and raspberries/blackberries. Beyond that do some research on the Internet for other recommendations. For my condition, I had to do a lot of trial and error to discover what other things bothered me (citrus pulp, skins of apples and grapes, and leafy things). It is worth staying away from the things that bother you, as I saw my mother-in-law suffer a lot because she just wanted a taste, and then had a bad spell. Do keep good fiber foods in your diet, whole grain cereals ( but read the labels, a lot of them have nuts and seeds in them!
