I've been living with tinnitus for the past 4 years. It's not easy at all, but after some time, I tried to observe, pay attention to myself and try to find what really bothered me, if it was the noise or the irritation and anxiety the noise brought with it. At first, I eliminated everything, from a list, that was possibly related to trigger the noise as coffee (cafeine in general), aspirin, red wine, alcohol, cheese, hams, and a lot of other things. together with it, I decided to lower my cholesterol level to the minimum possible. control my blood preasure more carefully. started jogging for over an hour 7 days a week. had acupunture sessions 3 times a week for a year and read everything I could about the subject. Also started going to a psicotherapist. lost some 40 pounds and I'm feeling a lot better now. Sometimes, specially when I'm having some kind of problems at work or at home, the noise, that never stops, really bothers me. usually at night now. When that happens, I turn on the TV, drink some milk or water, and try to thing about something else - learned to try to find a "happy place" to go when this happens. Has helped me a lot. And there are two other things that helped me a lot also: I never go to bed without some kind of noise around - it can be the TV, radio, AC, anything. I got two dogs to play with when coming back home. And they are a joy! Well, I sincerelly hope these clues help you to go on living with tinnitus.
