PANIC ATTACKS

Message 9 of 17 Previous Next

I spent years trying to find a miracle cure to help me with anxiety/panic and after 10 years this is what i can offer: I imagine you are seeing a pshyciatrist to prescribe meds. They are not miracles but they do help you cope, and take the edge off. Don´t be afraid to take the meds. Also, the breathing techniques work and most importantly remember that the attacks are very uncomfortable but they will not kill you. And there are days that are better than others... don´t concentrate on the worst times, think of your capability of being ok. Don´t expect to be 100% free of anxiety, it´s part of you, with time you will learn what triggers them for you (for me it´s trips, traffic jams, long meetings, illness in family members etc.) and try to prepare yourself with positive thoughts and keeping busy, use the adrenaline in a positive thing, organize closets, albums, drawers, cleaning, jigsaw puzzles, game boy(tetris) etc. Learn to know your limits and do your absolute best to lead a normal life as best you can. Always remeber: YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!! Living with panic and anxiety disorders is not easy and you can expect bad days and worse days but YOU WILL ALSO HAVE GOOD DAYS AND VERY GOOD AND ABSOLUTELY GREAT DAYS. God Bless you and take care.
