I had something simila years ago due to the onset of menapause. The lining of the vagina becomes drier and therefore more subject to infection, yeasts and all sorts of things. You do not say whether you have had a swab or not but I presume that you have. Estrogen cream applied directly to the vagina helps to keep it normal and also plain yoghurt keeps the ph balance more natural so that bacteria will not thrive. Using lubrication during intercourse is also a good idea to stop any chafing due to dryness and therefore leaving you more susceptible to bacteria reforming all the time. I presume the diagnosis is correact. Can it be a yeast infection? In which case Canesten works and also trichamoniasis (spelling!?) which is cured by flagyll both orally and by pessary. Good luck.
