Spinal epidural injections

Cherie Elder

Message 7 of 10 Previous Next

I had two injection procedures over the last few months. I have stenosis of the spine and arthritis and both have caused severe pain in my hip and down my leg. Unfortunately, the injections didn't help me; however, that's not to say they won't help you. The procedure really isn't uncomfortable, only a little pressure is felt. The main problem I had was you need to fold over into almost a "U" shape. They sat me on the side of the table and had me bend way over tucking my chin into my chest. I got very dizzy and started to faint. The doctor then had me lie on my side and bring my knees up into the "U" shape that I mentioned. It was a piece of cake. When I went for the second injection about six weeks later, he didn't even try the side of the table.....he just had me lie on my side. I think where my problem is more a result of inflammation, your's may be totally different and therefore you'll experience excellent results. I hope it works well for you and it really doesn't hurt at all. I think I just had the blood rush to my head too fast, didn't breath, and was scared. There's really nothing to be scared about.
