Hi: I don't know if I was born with just one kidney, but several years ago while having some catscans done the doctors showed me that I have one kidney that's about twice the normal size and one that is shriveled up and seems to be non-working. They said I could've been born that way or it could've happened anytime along the way. By the way, I'm 36-years-old and don't play contact sports nor do seem to have any negative things going on because of this strange phenomenon. Hal
