I have two bugling discs, C6 & C7. Mine occured due to an auto accident 4 1/2 years ago. I have tried everything: massage/chiropractic therapy, cortisone injections, excercise therapy at a rehabilation center and pain management. The pain meds and the anti-inflammatory meds caused me to have sensitive liver so I am now unable to take any tylenol or ibuprofen-based medicines any longer, which rules out all pain and anti-inflammatory medication. Therefore, I now have to just suffer with the pain with no relief. Finally, I have decided on a discectomy. I found a wonderful website that shows a video of the procedure, http://www.drdillin.com/education/animation_cervdisc.htm If this link doesn't take you straight to it .. just copy and paste the address above into any search engine such as netscape or internet explorer. You should definitely try everything before surgery. Excercise therapy could still help. However, the cortisone injections did not help me at all. I hope some of this information helps. I will pray for you as well. Take care and good luck!
