Hi... when I read the results of MRI, I thought I was reading mine from 2 years ago. Have you been referred to a Neurosurgeon or Orhto Spine Surgeon? "mixed paracentral/perforaminal large protusion with effacement of the ventral thecal sac and cord pancaking" This means that you have a hernitaed disk that is pressing on your spinal cord. "Central neural foraminal canal stenosis" means that your spinal canal is smaller than normal. The normal size is 13 to 15mm. You didn't say what levels your herniated disk and stenosis is at. I had a herniated disk at C5-6 and a ruptured disk at C6-7, with severe compression of the spinal cord and the left nerve roots. I had an anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) at those 2 levels. I later find out I have a herniation at C3-4 and stenosis (spinal canal opening is at 9-10mm). I'm having worsening problems there now and am having another MRI done next week. If you have not been referred to a Neurosurgeon or an Ortho Spine Surgeon, get a referral immediately. Good luck and please keep me posted! Kristen
