hi, My husband had that when he was in his early 20s. He took the rounds of meds offered and when they were finished, he still felt exhausted, etc. So, he went on vitamins and herbs that were recommended to him by people trained in those areas. He recovered much quicker than a friend of mine who got it. It took my friend two years to really recoup while my husband was back working on his feet within 6 months. Mono is a disease that passes the blood brain barrier in the brain and so it never fully goes away though meds etc can help the body do a lot of restoration. My husband still has to be careful not to overdo and he still uses vitamins etc to keep a very busy schedule. All in all, his lifestyle is not that different from most except he lives a bit more healthily. Good luck~ 6 is so young to have this. Do what the doctors tell you so you do not get it yourself (or pass it around the family)
