It seems to me that you have PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY. Burning is one of the symtoms. I have had P. N. for at least 2 yrs. I have had severe shocking pains in my feet and cannot walk much on a hard surface. I went to a good Neurologist and she did a nerve test, which showed Neuropathy. There are a lot of different symtoms. I am taking 1600 mg. of Neurontin and has helped very much. I am also taking 25 mg. of Vioxx, which is helping even more. It is a really good medication for the burning. At least it is working for me. There is a book called Numb Toes and Aching Soles, by John A. Senneff. I have rented it from the Library and have just read a little and am anxious to finish it. I wish you the best.
