Hi. I've had RSD for over 2 years. I also developed my RSD as the result of a work - related injury. (I'm a teacher, and I was assaulted by a student.) RSD is diagnosed primarily on the basis of the presence of symptoms. The main test which is helpful in diagnosing RSD - is a thermography. I take numerous anticonvulsants and an antidepressant - all of which do help with the pain. I also receive nerve blocks and trigger point injections - which help a great deal - every 3 months.Unfortunately, all of the workers' comp. problems have kept me under a great deal of stress - which, of course, makes the pain worse. If I were you, I would find a doctor who specializes in treating RSD, and is really "up" on the latest research. What state do you live in? I live in Texas. How long have you had RSD? Take care.
