I am unsure where to start.. I had ear problems when I was a child, getting the tubes put in, etc. The last surgery I got, I was 9-11 years old, I got a tube in my left ear, and a skin graft/patch to cover my right preferated eardrum. It did not help. I was told by a physician I would be deaf by age 25. I am soon to be 28. Not long after the last surgery, I had an earache, and a bad reaction to Debrox drops (carbumide peroxide??) and ever since then, my right ear has leaked. It was a sporadic thing, usually occuring when I was sick (colds, etc.). But in the recent future, it has gotten worse, it started leaking on Holy Thursday 2002, and finally stopped around May 20. It usually picks up again after a day or two. Also, both my ears leak at the onset of any cold or flu I come down with. I actually battle the cold through my ears. I also had an instance two weeks ago, where I totally lost hearing in my left ear (the healthier ear) for three days. In my last checkup, I had a good sized hole, in both my 'drums, in fact, very little eardrum left. I breathe mostly through mouth, not nose, and my girlfriend says that I breathe heavy (though I don't notice this.). The discharge has been waxy, sometimes bloody, but I have seen many colors. THe discharge has a strong odor, which makes me socially uncomfortable. I haven't experienced a painful earache in a long time, as the wax cannot linger and build up. So the leaking is totally painless to me. No one has been able to give me a direct answer or good advice as to why I am experiencing this, and until I can afford medical coverage, I am left to my own research and devices. Any advice or help would be appreciated. I feel like I am the only one who seems to have this problem.
