I too have the same illness, with all the classic horrors u decribed and then some ,I just responded to a letter on here about gall bladder attacks after surgery....... In my case I think the two went hand in hand , my cholestrol remains high, I cant lose weight , I had the flu from time to time ,or was bed ridden for other illness at other times ,and during those bouts i was unable to eat for 2 weeks ,......I lost nothing !!!!not an ounce..... I am taking synthyroid... losing weight is impossible for me, I am always tired and if i dont get rest I become light headed to say the least...... this Illness/ Disease that we have is the most DISRESPECTED Disease out there...... no WALKS done for the Thyroid Disease, no Thyroid Disease Awareness Month, very rarely discussed or listed anywhere , unless a PRESIDENT or someone very close to the President is diagnoised with this disease, or a big SPORTS figure / celebratie , WE are on our own...... there is however the Thyroid Foundation , u can look them up on the web , but even so there is not all that much u can get from them , newsletters and such,..... just not enough interest is given to this illness so there for not much time and money is spent on this cause... we are the forgotten breed...... double edge sword here ......do we have to resort to hoping someone in the limelight has to be the unfortunate recipient of this disease in order for us to get the help and respect we deserve.......hope I shed some light...:))))
