I am 41, a smoker, with 4 children. My mother died of ovarian cancer. It has been suggested that, now that I am done having children, I should have a full hysterectomy. I have always had a rough time with my menstral cycle; heavy bleeding, cramps, headaches, but nothing has changed. I was told it, of course, would end all that, and my chances of getting cancer would be less risky. One doctor has told me 'don't fix what's not broke'. I would like any information anyone has to offer on this matter. I would also like the opinion of women who have had full hysterectomies. How they feel; changes like hot flashes, emotions, etc. Thank you..T
