My husband had eight last year at one time and a test is usually done first to see what kind they are and then you are told what you should and shouldn't eat. X-rays will tell how large they are and if there is a good possibility of them passing. It will take time. When they start moving is when you have pain. My husband has passed 7 but the 8th is too large. He has chosen not to do anything about it until it starts moving.Other doctors would recommend crushing them with laser. He has had several over the years - averaging about 4 a year but not all together. He was told to drink lots of lemon juice but the acid bothers him so he drinks very little. Good luck.
