My Mother-in-law has untreated lymphedema in her lower leg. She needs to have a knee replacement in the next few months, but her doctor will not give her a referel for therapy. He feels that if she wears jobst hose, elevates her leg and takes lasix, it will be OK. I want her to have the very best outcome from her surgery, and feel that this is less that optimal treatment. I am being an alarmist, or should I encourage her to go more treatment.
