I am currently suffering with the symptoms you describe.I am taking Vioxx by prescription and although it doesn't take away all of the painit does lessen it an d makes it easier to do simple things like sit for a reasonable length of time or lay on my side. Alot of people have this, inckluding my neighbor. It can come from simply sneezing or coughing to hard. It can come from lifting something that is too heavy for us to lift. Try the Vioxx perhaps it will help.
