I have had several surgeries for herniated disks, so I feel your pain. At this time, I am receiving treatment through the pain clinic at the hospital. I have received nerve blocks, trigger point injections. I, too, have developed arthritis and degenerative disc disease. Taking Celebrex and Ultram seems to help with the arthritis. Neurontin and Amitriptyline work on the nerve pain. The one thing that I have found that helps with arthritis more than anything is to keep moving. It doesn't help at all to get stiff. I do water exercises on a daily basis. I went to the doctor on Friday, and again he said to push myself. All of this to say that it is important to do whatever it takes to keep you as comfortable as possible. After all, you have to live with your condition 24/7. I wish you well.
