rotator cuff

Hi there, I too have had bilateral shoulder surgery. First surgery was for a torn rotator cuff and second was for multidirectional instability. My surgeon has currently maxed my lifting restrictions as he doesn't want my shoulder retorn. Already proved him wrong once so we'll see how long the rstrictons really last. Yes, unfortunately there can come a point where the tissue is so destroyed that the tear becomes unrepairable. I would suggest you immediately seek another opinion, prefarbly from a shoulder specialist. These surgeons have a bit more experiece in shoulder repair and can often offer different treatment options. I was seen by one surgeon who ot right refused to operate then a year later another surgeon who specialized in shoulders and immediately said I needed surgery. I am so thankful I didn't accept the opinion of one surgeon. I am much better shape as I had a long recovery but well worth it. If I can answer any ? for you or be of any sopport feel free to email me. Best wishes to you.
