Rule #1,,,,for everyone. DO NOT sleep on your stomach. No only does it keep the muscles from relaxing...it also distends the muscles around the heart, and you are NOT getting a restful sleep because of the neck tension. Right Now.. Turn your head left then right. Does it not extend neck, shoulder & mid back (thoracic) muscles? That is exactly what happens when you go to sleep in that position. The best way to sleep (for good blood flow & circulation) is either on your back or on your side. Also....a good cervical (neck) support pillow....i.e. pillowpedic..that is designed to give your neck good support while you sleep. REMEMBER>>>>Stay off your stomach...It may take awhile....but subconsciously....you will learn to roll over onto another position. Your neck will thank you & your neck pain will be GREATLY reduced or ended. Give it a shot.
