The condition you are describing could be a case of "benign positional vertigo" caused by debris buildup in the inner ear. The ringing you describe could be a symptom of Tinitis or of vascular nerve compressions. I would suggest that you see a neurologist who has training in assessment of cranial nerve conditions and neuralgias. Likewise, look up the Cranial Nerve Center at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
