Are you SURE your hip needs surgery and it is NOT Arthritis? I have exactly the same symptoms, was told I had chipped a bone in my hip (had a bad fall) but I went to another doc and had a bunch of x-rays which showed a lot of Arthritis in my left hip..LOTS in my neck, etc. and I never KNEW I even HAD Arthritis. YOu can go to a rheumatologist or try the various meds for Arthritis plus heat, massage, warm water exercises at many spas and hospital pools FOR Arthritis sufferers..all better than surgery, altho there IS a new treatment now which uses a sort of super glue to "mend" the hip bones without having such radical surgery. I would think any Orthopaedic surgeon would KNOW aboutit.
