Mersa staff infection

The infection you speak of is MRSA (methyline resistant staphylococcol aureus) which means it is basically resistant to most antibiotics except Vancomycin (given intraveneously). My mother caught this in the hospital, that's where most people get it, during a hospital stay because hospitals are really nasty places. I worked in a hospital where I saw many cases. My mom & the other patients need to be in an Isolation Room, where visitors wear gloves, masks and gowns when visiting to protect yourself. It is passed on by direct contact, which in the cases I have seen also air-born germs from sneezing , coughing & mucous. You should speak with an infectious disease Doctor to be tested since you are pregnant. Many healthcare workers carry this is in their bodies but it remains dormant, but it is a contagious disease. I never became sick from my mom although I cleaned her trachyotomy, etc before she was diagnosed. Make sure that your relative is treated, thoroughly, because this can be fatal to those already ill or the elderly. Don't let the medical staff fluff it off as nothing. Good luck & Bless your family.
