Hi, Did your husband see an orthopedic doctor or a neurosurgeon? I went to both, the orthopedic doctor wants to do surgery but with hardware whereas the neurosurgeon said that it can be done without all the hardware(which I am leaning towards)I also had many nerve blocks and tried medication. Here are 2 kinds that is suppose to work, one didn't on me because I built up an immunity towards it but could work for your husband. It's called Neurontin, that one I heard from many people that it really helps them. The one that I am currently on for just the pain is MsContin it is a morphine in a pill but can be given in low doses.I tried OxyContin but I was allergic to it.If he is experiencing any leg spasms a medication called Zanaflex really works but there is one draw back, it could make your white blood count elevate. Which it is only suppose to be in 3% cases but I fell into that little 3%, which is why I didn't get my surgery done, I am trying to get my white blood count back down to normal. I hope that this helped you out on doctors and medications that could be used from my own experience. Take Care
