Hi Diane, i had carpal tunnel surgery in 96 and it took about 2 months. I feel it worked very well. I would suggest that you wear a brace for your wrist. Usually carpal tunnel doesnt come back. A friend of mine had the same thing done and he said that the dr said one thing god messed up on was to put this nerve in are hand. The dr said once the tunnel is removed you shouldnt even have to worry again. They told me i had carpal tunnel in my left hand but, i never had the surgery and i am doing fine. Right hand was worse. Just make sure you go to therapy after you are done with your surgery. Alot of people have different results. I guess i was very lucky. Now i have sciatica problems and not so lucky anymore.
