I've had the same condition for four years and have taken botox injections for about three years. While those stopped the spasms (motion of head moving to one side) they created another problem in that I largely lost muscle control in my neck. My neurologist finally suggested that I look into acupuncture, something I never thought I would do. But I did and the results have been very good. On a pain scale of 10 I am now about a 3 most of the time and my head is now "on straight", so to speak. I also do a 1 hour yoga class two times a week. This has added up to not needing expensive botox that didn't work all that well anyway. I would be interested to know what kind of medication your husband's doctor has him on. Good luck.
