Hi Derek, I am sorry to hear that your wife is not responding to treatment. Is she seeing a rheumatologist? I wonder if she may have been diagnosed incorrectly, or that she may have two diseases at one time? There are a number of rheumatic diseases that resemble PMR, too. Did your wife have a definite diagnosis of Temporal Arteritis along with the Polymyalgia? Usually, rheumatologists treat PMR with Prednisone, in low doses, and sometimes support it with Methotrexate, as a steroid sparing drug. I am surprised that this isn't working for your wife.
