Blue hands

It sounds like your daughter could be suffering the effects of Raynaud's Syndrome. I started with this when I was in 10th grade and am now 41. It seems to get progressively worse with age and there is no known cure. Preventative maintenance is best -- keeping hands and feet protected and warm especially in cold weather. Usually it improves a little in the summer time when the weather is warmer. Especially watch feet as they can form lessions which can damage both skin a vessels. Watch for blue-purple spots that look like small bruises on the bottoms of the toes. Elevating the feet and applying warm compresses or heating pad usually helps, but it is better to warm affected areas slowly rather than soaking in hot water which can cause further complications. The cause as I understand it is spasms of the tiny vessels in the hands and feet. As your daughter is younger, she probably hasn't experienced all of these symptoms yet. Be sure to ask your doctor if Raynaud's could be a possibility. A lot of doctors have never heard of it, let alone seen it. When I first started with the symptoms, I was even sent to specialists who had no idea what they were looking at. It took several years before they were able to confirm a diagnosis. I hope this info helps.
