I worked with a young man in Public school who suffers from AUTISM. Like you, we worked on getting our work completed... ect. For him, we made a daily schedule. It gave the time/subject and the a line. After he completed the subject of his choice, he was able to put an X by it. This gave him the freedom to do what assignment he wanted to do, first. Break and lunch and playtime were also added. We also used a penny board, which for us was a GREAT success. If you're intersted in knowing more about the board, please e-mail me and I'll happily tell you about it!!! The child I worked with was 8 and I hope this works for you!! GOOD LUCK!!!
