Rita - I too was hit from behind while sitting at a stop light (foot on brake)by a women going 45-50 mph. She hit me, knocked me into the car in front of me, then hit me again!! It's a messed up story. She had NO insurance, I was picking up repairs from our jeweler (on the clock) and my work originally told me to file under MY auto claim which they did not want to pay because I was doing errands for work. I had to hire an atty to force my employer to set me up with a Workers comp Dr. He said there was NOTHING wrong with me even though he gave me medications. 19 months later, I still have major pain in mid back, loss of use of 2 fingers on one hand and finally went to see a non workers comp DR. I have herniated disks pressing on nerve roots. The nerve roots are the bundle of nerves that leaves the spine and branches out to the body. IF you ever have a question, ask your doc and if they dont give you an answer you can understand, let them know that you dont understand the medical terms (that's how I get my info) I keep on and I know sometimes he gets annoyed but hey, I want to know whats going on with me. The main thing is to get treatment ASAP. My new doc has told me that since the herniated discs are in thorasic spine, normal movements aggravate it so that it is not healing and it could cause chronic problems.
