Dear parent of bed wetter, I, too, was a bed wetter until suddenly my mom realised that the two year old was staying dry all night but the six year old wasn't. I was immediately seen by my pediatrician who sent me on to a urologist who did some tests. The problem? The opening from the bladder to the uretha (I think) was not large enough - therefore the bladder only emptied when I was completely relaxed (i.e. asleep). The surgery was quick, relatively painless and 100% effective. I would get this ruled out by a specialist before getting too far down the pike. I do mean a specialist - not all pediatricians are pro-active enough to send a small child onto a urologist. It made the world of difference in my life! Good luck
