There is a cream one can use which takes away the pain almost immediately and helps to stop the bruise from forming - HIRUDOID CREAM. I don't know where you live and if it's available in your country but in Italy it's possible to buy it over the counter so I (who live in South Africa) ask my friends to buy it for me whenever I need it. It's my constant companion and I wouldn't go anywhere without it. Good luck!
